Houston, Texas Wedding // Adam + Sandy

What memory stands out most to you from your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle to one another was my absolute dream come true. As a young girl, I looked forward to this moment and imagined it a million different ways. The white dress and aisle are not part of our cultural demands for a wedding, but we did it for us. It filled my heart so completely to have him feel similarly. So many tears!

Advice for future couples?

Communication and commitment. Sometimes life throws you lemons, now more than most. Sometimes things are not easy. Talking to your partner and being there for one another is invaluable. Making the commitment to each other day in and day out and prioritizing your moments together. We are long distance, and have been for the past several years, so this is closer to home than most!

And in regards to wedding planning, organization is key! It is complete chaos with so many moving pieces. And be adaptable!

How was your experience with April?

Truly a treasure.

I stumbled across April’s social media presence a couple years back and fell in love with the emotions shining through each and every portrait. The rich colors. The saturation. She was the sweetest human from the very first phone call. I knew immediately she was who I wanted to capture one of the most special days in our lives. Adam and I are awkward humans, but April helped us come out of shells.

Our engagement photos required some adapting with the pandemic in full force, but the end result is nothing short of breathtaking. She delivered what seemed like a hundred photos, all of which made my heart smile. She is so prompt and sends sneak peeks at the speed of light.

April is a gem of a human. Not only for the amazing memories we now have forever, but for her calm and nurturing presence throughout our wedding day. She even went to get my bridesmaids deodorant in the blistering hot Houston summer. I could not have asked for a better wedding day after such a long awaited buildup, and April is an important part of this coming to life for my now husband and I.

If I could do it all over again, I would still book April over and over. Do it for your love, and for the magic waiting to happen.
